Technology Assessment

Virtually all of our assignments involve technology-based ventures or markets. In addition, we are frequently called upon to assess new technologies from a technical, business planning, operational or valuation standpoint.

What follows are examples of technologies we have assessed:

• 3G and 2.5G mobile networks (WCDMA, cdma 2000, GPRS, etc.)
• Broadband multimedia networks (HFC, LMDS, MMDS, DBS) and associated terminals
• Satellite communications technologies for fixed mobile and broadband applications
• Alternative PCs technologies (GSM 1800, CDMA, PHS)
• Multiplexers and codec products
• Fiber systems and subsystems for international (i.e., submarine), national and local (e.g., CAP, CLEC) communications applications
• Digital TV systems and HDTV
• Mobile terminals and related design issues

We have also monitored and/or evaluated new technology trials and developments in the United States, Japan, Europe and elsewhere for the purpose of forming international joint ventures and/or business development strategies. And we have conducted a wide range of technology costing studies.
