Kalba International was founded in the United States, where we have served a wide range of clients—from the FCC and the Commissioner of Baseball to many operators, technology developers and professional firms. In Canada we have served mobile and telecom operators, satellite entities, new entrants and government players, including CRTC and Industry Canada.
In Latin America and the Caribbean, Brazil has been a lead market but we have also worked on cases in Argentina, Bermuda, Chile, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Guyana, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela.

- Due diligence for rural subsidy application for satellite delivery of multi-channel TV services; special review of Hispanic household market
- Advised Brazil mobile auction winner of Rio de Janeiro/Espirito Santo license; and provided consulting inputs on financing, marketing and operational issues to operators in Canada, Chile, Mexico and Venezuela
- Assessed routing of Caribbean undersea fiber cable on behalf of Governor’s Office, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico
- Conducted assessments of satellite communications markets for AT&T, Cancom, NEC, New Skies, PBS, Telesat and other clients
- Assessment of marine communications product for use on charter boats and fishing vessels in Alaska and Caribbean
- Served as industry experts in multi-year litigation proceeding on mobile licensing decision
Our consultants are located in New York, Los Angeles, Ottawa, Chicago, Seattle, Miami and Washington, DC as well as Santiago, Chile and Castries, St. Lucia. They include a former general manager and a former VP Regulation of mobile operators in Latin America, a former manager of cable TV ventures at GE Capital, the former strategy director of a U.S. operator, and the former head of the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association.
We also maintain working relations with law firms in New York, Washington, DC, Montreal, Ottawa and San Jose, Costa Rica—and with consulting groups based in Boston, Denver, New York, San Francisco, Sao Paolo, Toronto and other cities in the region.
